What we fear is often the idea of the thing, not the thing itself.

More times than I can count, people come to sit with Ayahuasca and say to me, “I’m scared to confront my demons. I don’t know if I can face what’s inside me.”

And every time, I smile gently, because I know what’s on the other side.
I’ve witnessed it over and over again.
The trembling before the plunge… and the absolute relief that follows.

What we fear is often the idea of the thing, not the thing itself.
The mind builds monsters, but the heart knows how to dissolve them.

When you finally sit with your shadows, you realise they were just hurting parts of you waiting to be held.
When you face your fears with love, they lose their power over you.
And what’s left is space. Lightness. A breath you didn’t even know you were holding.

So if you’re scared, that’s okay.
But don’t let fear decide for you.
Because the truth is…
It’s often a lot easier than you anticipated.
And the freedom that follows is worth every moment of courage.
