All of our suffering is the resistance to what is in the present moment. It is never the moment itself that breaks us. It is the story our mind creates about the moment that brings the heaviness. If we truly want to become radically honest with ourselves, we need to see this clearly. Suffering starts in the mind.
It is not what is happening.
It is what we think about what is happening.
It is not the situation.
It is the meaning we attach to it.
It is not the experience.
It is the mental story wrapped around the experience.
The stress, the pain, the emotional charge, the overwhelm, the fear, the irritation and the spirals we fall into are all rooted in how we think about what is unfolding. The mind is powerful and if it is not managed, it becomes a wild storyteller that drags us into fear, projections, assumptions and expectations.
Life is neutral.
The moment is neutral.
The event is neutral.
The mind is the one that assigns the suffering.
When we resist the present moment, we create tension in the body, chaos in the emotions and a split in our energy. Resistance says, “This should
not be happening.” Acceptance says, “This is happening, and I can choose how to respond.” There is freedom in that shift.
And here is the beautiful truth.
If you are willing to be with what is, what is will transform into what you want.
But you must be willing to sit with it.
You must be willing to feel it.
You must be willing to stop fighting the moment and allow it to show you what it came to teach.
The moment you separate yourself from the story, the suffering dissolves.
The moment you return to the present moment, clarity returns.
The moment you stop fighting what is, your heart relaxes.
Peace is not something you find.
Peace is something you allow by releasing the mental resistance.
Come back to the now.
Come back to the breath.
Come back to what is real.
Your mind can create storms, but your presence can calm them.
